Curator’s word

The power of music is often underestimated, especially in the combination of film and music, where the resulting impact is both subtle and profound. The 2025 Second Hong Kong Film and Music Festival will showcase various innovative ways of blending film and music, while paying tribute to three industry pioneers: producer/director Teddy Robin, director Chan Muk Sing, and composer Kawai Kenji.

This event is not just an audiovisual feast; it is a deep emotional resonance. When film music is transformed into live performance, the audience can experience the close connection between music and imagery more profoundly, evoking deeper emotional responses and memories. This form of performance allows each note to carry a story, showcasing the unique charm and influence of music.
